Part of your business recovery plan might include hiring apprentices to fill positions in your business. Apprenticeships can be extremely difficult to navigate if this is the first time you have employed one. This webinar will run through the pathways to get apprentices onboard, communication tools and ways to help them to succeed.

About Your Host – Russell Meadley

Russell Meadley is passionate about small business and, since 1994, has worked directly with businesses throughout the central west of NSW to ensure they are more sustainable.
During the course of his career, Russell has held various senior management roles in training, HR, safety, and in not-for-profit organisations. This has developed into extensive knowledge regarding the hospitality, construction, metal trades, administration, retail, mining, sustainability and horticulture sectors.
Russell’s previous family business in picture framing means that he knows what ‘putting in the hard yards’ is all about. He currently runs a sustainability contracting business.
Russell is an Accredited Mental Health First Aider.

About your presenter – Erika Vass

Erika Vass is currently working as a Community Engagement Consultant (CEC) for VERTO Ltd across Central West NSW. As a CEC, Erika is responsible to market and promote the Australian apprenticeships and traineeships program to school students, Job Seekers, Job Active Providers and other industry stakeholders. She is also trying to be the conduit for candidates to link with Central West employers through VERTO’s job vacancy program CareerGate. Erika has over four years Australian media experience working within the newsrooms of 2BH/Hill FM, Sky News Australia, Nine News Australia and the Central Western Daily. In 2016, Erika graduated with a Bachelor of Communication (Journalism) degree from Charles Sturt University in Bathurst and was the recipient of the Nine Network Richard Carleton Memorial Scholarship in 2015.

This webinar is available to any business owners/intenders who are thinking about hiring an apprentice in their business and can host up to 500 attendees. We will be recording and emailing out afterwards to all registrations as Youtube link.
